Only 30% of the funds that we need to keep our service running are supplied by statutory funding; the rest we have to find ourselves. Everybody can help however big or small and every penny counts.

Off The Record was invited to the Local Charities Day Reception at 10 Downing Street on Wednesday 14th December 2016, to meet with the Secretary of State for Culture, Media & Sport, The Rt Hon Karen Bradley MP, the Minister for Civil Society Rob Wilson MP and other small charities from across England and Wales. It was a very enjoyable event attended by Sue Gillard, OTRís General Manager. Whilst at the reception we took the opportunity to impress upon Rob Wilson the need to invest in small local charities. Small local charities are best placed to know their local community and the needs of local people. Like us, many charities use local volunteers with a wealth of local knowledge and strong community relationships

On the 8th September 40 brave supporters are abseiling down The Spinnaker Tower in Gunwharf to celebrate our 40th birthday, and to raise much needed funds and awareness of our service.

There are still a couple of spaces left so if you are interested in taking part please contact Corinne at <a href=fundraising@otr-south.org.uk for further details.

We are asking for a minimum sponsorship of £200, which includes the cost of taking part in the abseil itself.

If you don't fancy the 100 metre drop, there are lots of other ways to support us

- Encouraging others to sign up

- Donate to show support for those taking part on Just Giving

- Come along on the day to take donations, chat to the public about OTR or just cheer along those coming down the tower!

If you do have any questions please do get in touch.

We hope to see you there!
